FitsAir - Sri Lanka Based Private Airline Starts Flights to Pakistan

FitsAir is a low-cost and privately owned international airline based in Sri Lanka. It operates from Colombo to 4 international destination. The airline has announced scheduled flight operation to Lahore starting January 2026, that will be its 5th international destination.

FitsAir (airline code 8D) with its slogan "Friends in the Skies", runs a fleet of 3 Airbus A320-200 series aircrafts. The aircrafts have two-class configuration with 8 seats in business class and 156 seats in economy class. FitsAir has now 5 international destinations.

Flight Schedule and Weekly Frequency

The airline has started its operation with two weekly flights between Lahore (LHE) and Colombo (CMB). The flight time is about 3 hours and 26 minutes.

Meezab Group, a well known and reputed travel company in Pakistan has been appointed as a general sales agent (GSA) for FitsAir. The group will be leading overall operations of the airline including B2B and B2C operations. The ticketing initially is available online, through Meezab Group offices and selected IATA accredited agents in Pakistan.

Analysis: Competition to Sri Lankan Airlines

FitsAir is expected to give strong competition to Sri Lankan airlines for point to point travel. Sri Lankan airlines not only has a major passenger share for Colombo bound passengers but for onward routes to Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia. Until now Sri Lankan was the only direct flight operator between Lahore and Colombo.

Now with the launch of FitsAir and competitive fares, a major shift is expected to be seen for tourists and honeymooners traveling to Sri Lanka.
