1. Documents Required for Malaysia Tourist Visa

Since the visa application is online, travelers do not need to submit original documents. Make sure that documents are properly scanned, and you are not uploading photos taken of the documents using phone. The required supporting documents are:

  • Passport first page (bio-data page) having at least 6 months validity from travel date
  • First page of previous passport (if any)
  • National Identity Card (NIC) front and back
  • Bank statement of last 6 months with account maintenance letter (minimum PKR 500,000+ balance recommended)
  • A photo with white background (wearing dark clothes)
  • Birth certificate in case of applying for children
  • Family relation certificate (FRC) or marriage certificate for families

2. How to Apply Malaysia Visa

Visit official Malaysia e-visa website mentioned above. You will need to create an account to start your visa application.

  • On the home page, click Sign up to create new account
  • Enter your personal information as per your passport with correct contact details and address
  • After completing the sign up, you will receive an account activation email with temporary password

  • Click the activation link then enter your email address to login and click Send OTP
  • Now enter your temporary password received earlier and the OTP received
  • You are now at visa application dashboard. Click Apply new to start your application

  • You will see a popup for to accept terms and conditions. Scroll down to the bottom and click Agree.
  • Now you will see two options: Visa without reference and Visa with reference. Select Visa without reference, as visa with reference is for people having a valid sponsorship (students, employment etc).

  • On the first page of your visa application, upload the bio-data page of your passport and your passport size photo, both in high definition. The system will automatically fill the application form by reading from uploaded passport.
  • Now complete the remaining application by entering your personal detail. Select visa type Single Entry Visa and purpose of stay as Social.
  • You will need to provide hotel address (Address in Malaysia), enter correct detail as per your hotel booking.

  • On the second page, you will be required to adjust your photo as per guidelines and click next.
  • On the documents page:
    • Upload previous passport (if any)
    • Your confirmed return flight ticket
    • Your paid hotel reservation
    • Proof of financial support (bank statement with account maintenance letter)
    • Other documents (supporting documents as per your application)
  • Important Note: Merge all documents in single PDF for each category and each document should not exceed 2MB. You can compress your PDF using free online tools.
  • Now on the review page, verify all the details and click Next.

  • You will now see the final payment screen. Complete your visa application fee using your debit or credit card.
  • You have completed your application and will receive the response within due time.

Important Information

Please remember following important points while traveling to Malaysia

  • All travelers must complete Malaysia Digital Arrival Card online 3 days before departure at https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main
